We love turquoise from all places. Over the years we have collected turquoise from a variety of turquoise mines throughout the state of Nevada and elsewhere. Some of the turquoise has been rock hounded by the Nevada Cassidys. And some stones have come through trade or purchased to make cabochons. Expanding into stones from other mines gives us the opportunity to see how turquoise forms from around the world and gives eyes a break from what we are used to seeing.

This is our newest category, built to offer a variety of untreated gemstones we acquire by purchase, trade or find ourselves. All of the cabochons are designed with care to retain the natural essence of the stone and to show off original features. With that thought in mind we spend a great deal of time studying the stones before we cut them. Currently we are focused on finishing small groups of stones like chrysoprase, tourmaline, tourmaline in quartz, ruby zoicite, specialty agates, patterned chalcedony, aquamarines, chrysocolla and many more!.
All of these gemstones are natural and untreated.

These products are the new gemstone additions to our store. The most recent turquoise gemstone additions to the Nevada Cassidys website. We are constantly working in our studio to produce high quality turquoise gemstone cabochon, turquoise beads and to polish some of our stones to reveal the color and pattern of each stone. We use absolutely no resins, glues or dyes in our stone grinding processes.
Stone Mountain Mine is located in high deserts of Lyon County, Nevada.

Various miners and prospectors had come across this deposit since at least, the early 1900s. A few notable names attached to the claim previous to 1970 are "Taubert", "Harcross" and "Godber". Walter Godber of the legendary "Godber-Burnham" claim had purchased a group of claims including the Stone Mountain area from Otto Taubert previous to his discoveries in Central Nevada that later made him famous. The area that encompasses Stone Mountain Mine has been claimed, dropped and reclaimed by different entities throughout it's history.

Stone Mountain Turquoise is top quality stone. Most of the turquoise found at Stone Mountain Mine is high grade, gem turquoise. Even some of the paler colors of Stone Mountain Turquoise polish with a high gloss. All of the Stone Mountain Turquoise stones are untreated and carefully cleaned and sorted.
