Our turquoise gemstones formed in an area with a high degree of Limonite. This mineral consists mainly of Iron. The iron in this mineral caused the whole area to gather and collect any minerals that come in contact. This makes for some very unusual and stunning varieties of turquoise. In addition to the heavy amount of iron is the mineral, magnesium. The combination of these two minerals creates a harder, longer-lasting natural bond in the gemstone.
